Abstract: This project endeavored to explore the relationship between 3 demographic factors (race, income and sex) and drug use. The various relationships were estimated using a logistic regression model in which a binary response variable was regressed upon categorical variables describing the aforementioned demographic categories. Following the regression analysis, higher income groups were found to be more likely to use cannabis and marginally more likely to use heroin. White people were found to be more likely to use cannabis and cocaine when compared to Black and latino people, while Black people were more likely to use heroin than Whites and Latinos. Lastly, men were much more likely to have used cannabis and marginally more likely to use cocaine and heroin.
