Abstract: Although college access has increased over the past several decades, the 6-year graduation rate for undergraduate students in 2020 was 64% (National Center for Education Statistics, 2021). The goal of the present analysis includes 1) examining the relationship between family structure and postsecondary attainment and 2) investigating if the type of support offered during adolescence predicts well-being in college-educated adults. That is, this study will investigate whether individuals with parental nurturement during adolescence are more likely to complete a postsecondary degree(s) than those without and whether these differences are correlated to the family structure of parental figures.
