Abstract: Immigration and public opinion surrounding various aspects of it are hotly debated issues in the US and global political and social conversation. A poll in late March of 2023 shows that immigration was the fourth most popular choice from respondents of all parties when asked which issue facing the United States they feel is the most important from a list (Montanaro & Ahn, 2023). Immigration is an important issue to many people in the US and that calls for further investigation into sentiment surrounding it and associations to other characteristics. As immigration continues, the government needs to come up with reasonable policies to address various aspects of entry to and residence in the country. This investigation will aid in understanding of public opinion and the political actions and policies that follow, specifically in terms of religiosity. Finding relationships between various demographic information or characteristics of people in the US and their level of anti-immigrant sentiment enhances our understanding of political and social trends and behaviors.
